About Recording Memories
At Recording Memories, I record and lovingly craft bespoke audio Memoirs.
Preserve your unique memories, experiences and perspective on life. For your family, friends, for yourself and for the wider world. Your story is your legacy, as unique as your fingerprint.
Using state-of-the-art recording technology, with a sensitive and sympathetic interview technique if required.
Tell your life story in your own words in the supportive environment of my studio in the Cotswolds (or I can come to your home).
I also create besboke memory soundscapes.
For those who are separated from home for whatever reason, or for those who can no longer live there, a Bespoke MemoryScape is a relaxing and stress-relieving island of sound.
Feel at home - wherever you are.

Simon Toulson-Clarke
As an experienced audio designer, record producer and songwriter, I have been working with sound most of my life.
I was lucky enough to enjoy worldwide pop success in the 1980s as the singer-songwriter and founding member of the band Red Box.
As the 80s progressed I quickly developed record production skills and I went on to work with many well-known artists, including 12 years spent as Music Consultant at Warner Bros’ East-West Records.
I continue to write, record and perform with Red Box who have a strong and loyal following particularly in Europe.
I produce records, record personal Memoirs and create Memory-Soundscapes from my studio in the Cotswolds.
My passion for history and a love of hearing people’s stories, allied to my creative use of sound, makes Recording Memories a genuine labour of love.

Client Testimonials
Fiona Jackson
"Simon recorded my memoir when I was 85.
He made me feel immediately at ease, he was extremely professional in every way, with a great sense of humour and we had immense fun doing it.
I wish him every success in recording further memoirs and would highly recommend him."
Richard Vickers
"Your creative way with sound design turned my rambling stories into something truly memorable, Simon. Thank you!"
Marion Dudderidge
"I really enjoyed speaking with Simon. Before I knew it he had 2 hours of me talking about my early life and my love of horses. I’m so pleased how it turned out and just so glad I recorded some of those otherwise lost pony memories. Because I’m the last of three sisters I wanted to get it down now. My granddaughter loves it!"
Chloe Wright
"In my memoir Simon has used some of the music that’s been important to me while I’m talking about those early theatre days and it just really brought it back. He’s sensitive and supportive too."
